Description of Practice:

Jennifer R. Tullius’ practice focuses on real estate transactions and litigation.  Ms. Tullius regularly assists clients with complex and high value real estate transactions including, acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.  In addition, Ms. Tullius has extensive experience as a creditors’ rights and bankruptcy lawyer as well as a trial lawyer in federal and state courts in several jurisdictions. Ms. Tullius’ experience in the field of insolvency, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy litigation includes out-of-court workouts and restructurings, federal and state court receiverships and bankruptcy reorganization proceedings. In connection with this work, Ms. Tullius represents a wide range of clients including receivers, institutional lenders, developers, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors and business enterprises.

In conjunction with her legal practice, Ms. Tullius regularly acts as foreclosure trustee for commercial real estate foreclosures.  

Prior to opening her own firm, Ms. Tullius worked in both California and Washington, D.C. as an attorney with several of the largest firms in the country.  

Publications and Speaking Engagements:

Ms. Tullius’ publishing credits include: “Receiver’s Role” Commercial Investment Real Estate Magazine (May/June 2010); “Pre-Negotiation Agreements” California Real Estate Journal (November 2009); and “Receiverships in California,” Commercial Mortgage Insight (November 2009). Jennifer has also been quoted in numerous periodicals including California Real Estate Journal, Commercial Property Executive, Retail Traffic, and San Diego Union Tribune. 

In addition, Jennifer regularly speaks on receivership issues. Most recently, she has been included on panels at the Crittenden National Conference, ULI Urban Marketplace, and the Community Redevelopment Association Annual Convention.

Education:

Ms. Tullius received her B.A. from the University of Southern California, where she graduated cum laude in Philosophy. She earned her J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley. Ms. Tullius received the Moot Court Advocacy Award and the Prosser Award for Corporate Finance & Business Reorganization while in law school.

Ms. Tullius is admitted to practice in all of the state courts in the States of California, South Carolina and Virginia. In addition, Ms. Tullius is admitted to practice in federal district courts in the States of California, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia.

She is a member of the State Bars of California, South Carolina and Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia.  

Ms. Tullius is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the California Receiver’s Forum.
